BJP Appoints New Chiefs

On July 4, 2023, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took significant steps by appointing new chiefs in four states, namely Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Punjab.

The newly appointed chiefs are as follows:

  1. 1) Telangana: G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, has been entrusted with leading the party in Telangana. G Kishan Reddy has been a BJP member since 1980 and holds a position in the Rajya Sabha. He is widely recognized for his outstanding organizational skills, and his appointment is seen as an effort to strengthen the party's foothold in Telangana.

  2. 2)Andhra Pradesh: Daggubati Purandeswari, the former Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, has been chosen as the chief in Andhra Pradesh. A BJP member since 2014 and a prominent figure in the Lok Sabha, Daggubati Purandeswari is admired for her political acumen, and her appointment is expected to bolster the BJP's position in the state.

  3. 3)Jharkhand: Babulal Marandi, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has been given the responsibility to lead the party in Jharkhand. Babulal Marandi, a BJP member since 1996, holds a significant influence among the tribal people in Jharkhand, who regard him as a respected leader.

  4. 4)Punjab: Sunil Jakhar, the former State President of the BJP in Punjab, has been chosen as the chief in the state. A long-standing BJP member since 1980, Sunil Jakhar is a popular leader within the Jat community in Punjab.

The BJP's decision to appoint new chiefs in these states is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of the 2024 elections. Notably, the BJP is currently leading the governments in three of these states, namely Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jharkhand, while it serves as the primary opposition party in Punjab.

The newly appointed chiefs have expressed gratitude for their appointments and are determined to guide the party towards success in the upcoming elections.

With a keen focus on the 2024 elections, the BJP is taking these appointments seriously, aiming to expand its presence in these states. The party has high hopes that the new leaders will play a pivotal role in achieving this goal and contribute to the BJP's growth and success in the future political landscape.
