In Rajasthan, the BJP has released its first list of 41 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, with 7 Members of Parliament receiving tickets for the legislative assembly polls.
Rajasthan Election 2023: Voting will take place on November 23 for the 200 seats in the State Assembly, and the counting of votes will be conducted on December 3. The election notification for Rajasthan will be issued on October 30, and candidates can file their nominations until November 6. Nomination scrutiny will occur on November 7, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 9.
The BJP has granted a ticket to former Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jhotwara. Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Diya Kumari will contest from Vidhyadhar Nagar, and MP Kirori Lal Meena will vie for the Sawai Madhopur seat.
The BJP has fielded these MPs as candidates for legislative assembly elections:
- Narendra Kumar
- Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore - Jhotwara
- Diya Kumari - Vidhyadhar Nagar
- Baba Balaknath - Tijara
- Kirori Lal Meena - Sawai Madhopur
- Bhagirath Chaudhary - Kishangarh
- Dev Ji Patel - Sanchore
Narendra Kumar is currently the MP from Jhunjhunu, while Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore represents Jaipur Rural in Parliament. Apart from them, Diya Kumari is from Rajasamand, Balaknath hails from Alwar, Kirori Lal Meena is a Rajya Sabha member, Bhagirath Chaudhary is from Ajmer, and Dev Ji Patel represents Jalore-Sirohi.
Notably, Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and Narpat Singh Rajvi are not included in the first list. Instead, the BJP has given the ticket to Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhar Nagar (Jaipur), and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has been given the ticket from Jhotwara (Jaipur). Ratan Lal Jat will be the BJP's candidate from Sahada (Bhilwara) in place of Rajpat Singh Rajvi.
It's worth mentioning that in the by-elections held in 2022, Ratan Lal Jat had contested separately after not receiving a BJP ticket, but later, he reconciled with the party and withdrew his nomination.
The BJP has released a list of 41 candidates for Rajasthan. In Chhattisgarh, they have announced 64 candidates, and in Madhya Pradesh, 57 candidates. This marks the fourth list from the BJP for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
